About
Ania Telfer, M.C., is a Baha'i, multidisciplinary artist whose practice begins with painting and continues to grow into installation-based and spatial work. Her work is guided by curiosity about perception, presence, and the emotional and sensory layers of experience. Painting is at the heart of her practice, a space of intuition, colour, and unfolding process. From this foundation, her work often translates into other forms, including installation, performance, dance, sculpture, and eco-art, allowing painted ideas to move beyond the surface and into space and experience.
Recent work such as Army of Light reflects this shift, creating immersive environments where painting becomes something to walk through, sit with, and experience from within. Alongside her studio practice, she is part of the Beyond the Frame Collective, working collaboratively with dancers Janita Frantsi and Kathleen Hughes in performance-based explorations where painting and movement meet in real time.
Ania also engages in expressive arts facilitation and community-based projects, which continue to inform her sensitivity to process, connection, and shared experience. Her practice is currently expanding toward installation, public, and spatial work, while remaining grounded in painting as her primary language.
